HISTORY
The MV Sea Messenger captures the charm and elegance of a bygone era. It was initially built in the 1950's to lay and repair shark netting making the waters safe for swimming to all Sydneysiders from Manly to Palm Beach. The Sea Messenger was later used for off shore deep sea fishing, supplying Sydney with the freshest catch. In 1988 it was totally refitted as a working ferry.
The name Sea Messenger comes from the original owner C. Messenger (Charlie Messenger) an absolute legend on Sydney Harbour. The Messenger family built Sydney's first boat shed at Double Bay which is still there today.
The Sea Messenger is now available for private charters. Enjoy all this magnificent Harbour has to offer. Whether you sip champagne while cruising past the Opera House or turn up the volume and dance the night away under the stars.
